La Cure de Rièzes – Historic soul, sustainable luxury in the boot of Hainaut
Step inside La Cure de Rièzes , where time stands still and the good life begins. Nestled in the shadow of the Saint Gorgon church tower, you'll find this charming rectory dating from around 1850.
Once the village priest's house, this was the beating heart of Rièzes. After years of vacancy and silence, we have reawakened this historic heritage. The thick walls still exude the atmosphere of yesteryear, but behind the authentic facade now lies a fully renovated, self-contained holiday home .
Here you can enjoy the best of both worlds: the unmistakable charm of the 19th century and the ecological comfort of the 21st century. Rièzes, a district of the famous Chimay, is an oasis of peace and authenticity.
Rièzes is your ideal base for exploring the impressive Entre-Sambre-et-Meuse National Park . From the presbytery, you can stroll into a setting that combines the rugged beauty of the Fagne and Calestienne regions. The region invites you to explore endlessly through vast deciduous forests and along babbling brooks.
But the region doesn't just appeal to hikers; culture lovers and bon vivants will also feel at home here. Just a stone's throw away lies the princely town of Chimay . Wander through the historic alleyways, visit the centuries-old castle, or indulge in culinary delights in one of the charming brasseries. And of course, no stay is complete without sampling the soul of the region: the world-famous Trappist beer and its accompanying cheese, expertly crafted in the nearby Scourmont Abbey.
Whether you come for the beautiful nature, the local Trappist beer, or simply to unwind in a house with a soul: you are very welcome.
